Not everyone is particularly fussy about what they call a connector these days. How many times have you heard/seen a reference to a DB9 (there's generally no such thing!) or a DB15?

With the DIN41612 series, there's a socket with 96 plugs, and a plug with 96 sockets. What do you suppose they meant? The guys with whom I spoke, at SiLabs, didn't speak English that well. Do you think I'd rely on them to know the proper nomenclature?

If they'd give a manufacturer's part number, rather than a distributor's stock number, that would help.
