#113269 - I do not understand Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I know that in the olden days when the king of diamonds were still just a jack, we saved RAM and saved RAM because it was expensive, not to mention that 8k was "the norm". but, just for a moment, let us leave history and look at electronics:
Why the interest in usng multiple RAM chips, here is an example from digikey 128k*8 for $2 (in volume). 428-1036-ND CY7C109B-20ZC IC SRAM 128KX8 ASYNC 32-TSOP Cypress Semiconductor Corp SRAM 1M (128K x 8) 20nS Parallel 32-TSOP Bulk 5V 0 3.08000 @1 Why go through all that hassle to save $3 (at volume 1). is this, once more, books of the ghosts of the past?
