It's often the bottom line, Erik. When we decline to answer the question, and come back with, "Son't do that! Do this instead." Particularly when it doesn't sufficiently address the question before us, we're ducking our responsibility. We shoudl either answer the question, or shut up.

Sometimes, a request for clarification is indicate, I know.
