The first step should always be to understand all the memory spaces inside the MC and the MC core itself.

Then, if you are experienced on programming it and many projects finished and now the projects grows to need more external connected RAM or peripherals, then you can do the next step to look on addressing it, if the case occur, that you found no derivate, which fit your requirements already inside.
