#113047 - RE: 7.37mhz?? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Is there any other alternative to 8255 that is based on present day technology and is not so slow as to reduce my clock speed ?
8255A supports upto max 8MHz as per Intel's datasheets, and ofcourse, an 8052 running off of 11.0592MHz or 12MHz will not be too happy with such a chip. Secondly, i know multiple "WRONG" writes do not make one good write but it works here. But ofcourse, the downside is wastage of code space with multiple instructions and ofcourse this is a stupid idea. Any alternatives to the legacy 8255s ? Even if i do get a lates 8052 clone with on-board 32K Flash and SRAM, i would still need the extra IOs, and placing multiple 74HC573s for output and multiple 74HC244 / 245 for input will again eat up my PCB real estate, make solding time much more, and then i would require a change in teh address decoder circuitry as well. Hence i have to stick with 8255A or any other solution u guys can recommend. Best Regards... Zeeshan |
