Thank you Charles. Andy, I am sure you have suggested a very ideal solution, but there are a few limitations here.

First of all, None of the products that u have mentioed are available here in Pakistan. Secondly, they would cost more if they were purchased off the internet.

Third, the design has to be very generic so it is easy to understand with conventional texts. Fourth and most basic, the system is supposed to be modular, so u can just plug-in a required module and get your work done.

Another reason is that although i am making this system as a study aid, i also have to integrate this into a friend's factory-line machine. So, conventional components keep the cost low while maintaining proper debuggin suport.

Well, I will post a link of the schematic (in ORCAD) as well as in MS WORD by tomorrow.
