Which methode is better depends a bit on what connectors are to be soldered and on what side of PCB you want to solder them.

Definately. I saw in the pictures that Vignesh is using DIP ICs and socketed them so I suggested him with that.

Funny enough, I never had a damaged chip to exchange, which finally is the reason to use sockets at all, isn't it? So, one fine day I neglected all these shitty sockets.

Anyway, when using SMDs there isn't any socket on board, is it?

Me too ,didn't burned much IC's but I still use sockets Specially for the Main MCU.
After moving to SMD ,Nowadays I take much more care not to short circuit nearly placed traces (my protypes do not include any solder msaks).

I love intelligent chats...
