#106270 - A clarification Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear Andy,
All your interconnects - Vcc, signals, etc - go on the top copper, and connections are soldered on top. In single sided designs, I would solder components on bottom layer. Also, no plating-thru-hole is possible. In this case, I am assuming an answer: The components will be inserted from the bottom layer(which has the solid ground) and solder them on the top layer, as you have said: On the bottom layer, solder connections to ground. For pins that do not connect to ground, simply drill a clearance hole in the bottom copper And I have to make sure that no bare terminal of any component touches the ground plane. Am I right? Cheers, Vignesh PS: Just now enquired with my local supplier. Single sided boards are available with pre-cut sizes of 4x4", 6x4",... but double sided glass epoxy is at 1x1 feet! Oh no, I have to cut them. |
