#106258 - Second layer of PCBs |
Hi all, I got this idea few days back, after under going many 'use solid ground plane' posts for most of the common problems.
Many like me are not able to fabricate two layer PCBs, so I was thinking of an alternative: How about using a solid thin sheet of Aluminum under the PCB, like: || -|______|- -()- -()- || (components, thru-hole) ||--------------------------||-- (PCB) || * * * ** * || (Solder side, * are protuding pins) ||==========================||==(Aluminum sheet, painted to prevent shorting pins, || are fasteners) Then I can ground the Aluminum sheet. I was thinking about the capacitance also: since air is between the tracks and the Al sheet, this would be less capacitive than two layer boards(for same distance between two plates). Just a thought, and since I need your views upon this, I am starting a new thread, in Main forum. (my ascii drawing is too clumsy, a better description:) Regards, Vignesh |
