Forgive me my dumbness: does it mean that the supposedly bad parts did not work properly both upon powerup reset and pushbutton reset, with the '1232? And the same parts work OK with RC reset? And the '1232-circuit works OK with known good parts?

Is that reset circuit like pushbutton-RC-'14-'51, or rather pushbutton-'14-(diode)-RC-'51?
Don't get me wrong, I don't say those parts are not bad, I just want to understand...

Are those bad parts of a particular date, i.e. couldn't there be a mask or process change? Any related erratas (I know this is a historician task...)
