Of course you do. testing componets before using is futile, the hit rate is lower than minuscule and the cost is horrendous. You can spend 1000s of $$ trying to 'test' the devices OR you can risk 'burning' one $2500 board per 100.000 build. We use ~5000 boards/month - built with chips straight out of the tube - and I have yet to see a bad chip blowing a board. Go figure Of course, if you buy your components at a flea market or on e-bay, the story may be different, but the solution there is simple: do not. Erik |
