If You Though the CPU was bad, why would you believe it if it said it was good? I once spent a day Tring to fix a RAM problem. The Diags said it was bad replaced the chip, socket, line driver, row driver. Then figured out the CPU was bad.
If I thought the CPU was bad I would change it. I have done CSUM and CRC for Code (very important for ISP). You could do an external RAM test, But you have to be carful how it is done. There is much about it on the web. I would hit a second board, then a third, check all the timings before I would assume the CPU was not executing Opcodes correctly. |
