Yes, if there were a crying need for a full 64KB of data space, there'd be one out there.

I'd guess that those cases that require both the ports and the external memory for data space or expanded code space can use one of the large-pin-count parts and get the job done.

It's still a disappointment ... <sigh> ... and life is full of disappointments.
