At the same time, it is nasty, if something trnasmits into your gadget when it undergoes RESET: it can go into the bootloader mode falsely.
In those rare cases go back to hard ISP enable and have a signal coming out of the uC when your program starts enable the serial transceiver. Of course, you need a switch/nugget/wire to disable that function to allow ISP. of course since Fortunately, the bootloader is in FLASH, so it can be modified you can remove that activation and use (a modified) NoTouch instead.
