and use a P89V668 and get some RAM in the bargain.

Erik, I assume that's the part you meant? Anyway, just wondering what's with all these vary similar derivatives. The 668 sounds like an RD2 but with more SRAM (8k instead of 1k if memory serves). Is there anything else special about this part (that isn't present on the RD2)?

A really BIG product selector or spreadsheet would help isolate the subtle differences between the plethora of 8051's with only slight variations.
