#117665 - Sadly, it's not a "part" Responding to: ???'s previous message |
it's an IP core from MENTOR, which means mega- or giga-bucks.
They say,"The Mentor Graphics Co. M8051EW is an 8051 based, configurable and fully syntesizable high-speed IP-Core. Features: 256 Bytes on-chip RAM, up to 1MB ext. RAM/ROM, 32 I/O lines, 2 or 3 Timers/Counters, UART, max. 25 Interrupts with 2 or4 priority levels, up to 8 DPTRs, JTAG interface." ... AND it only runs up to 50 MIPS. That's probably in the most costly FPGA technology. <sigh> I'll bet it doesn't plug into a DIP-40 or PLCC-44, either. That's the only one with full 64KB RAM and 64KB ROM that the KEIL search turns up. Too bad nobody builds a part like the 100-MIPS cores that SILABS sells, without the useless (orders of magnitude too slow!) analog rubbish, and in a package compatible with the i805x. RE |
