If you like simm/sipp modules, it would be easy to build a module, or even one that fits on a DIP-40 using the tqfp-44 DS89C450, which has 64KB of code FLASH and put a CPLD and a TSSOP SRAM on it as well. I'm not sure it would be worth the effort, but it COULD be done.
Nevertheless, I'm disappointed that nobody's build a part with the full complement of code and data memory on board. It would, of course, need an extra pin by means of which one could assert the presence of external I/O devices in the memory map. I'm comfortable that the technology exists that would enable this. That way you'd have all the port pins and all the memory at your disposal. RE |
