Sorry big mistkae! I gave a wrong example. The number 1000 pieces was made up just to explain the reason that in some applications we need UART and in some not. In case the UART would be present in all the application it would cost plenty of money.

Naturaly including UART in the ASIC application would not raise the cost by 1$/piece!!!

In the reality we plan to use ASIC for more than 10 different applications, and one of the application is where we for sure don't need UART. And from these produts we plan to sell millions of pieces. That means it would boost up the price pretty much!
So once again the numbers I just made up!
