then you can have UART(s) serial memory more I/O and a lot more for your debugging. ALL it cost is 2 pins on your "soft '51". I would recommend a hardware IIC, but HW r SW you can evaluate yourself. When the product is finished, just omit the IIC chip(s) from th BOM. That way, if, for some reason you have to trace a pesky bugger on a production board, solder the IIC UART on, you have debug and there is no ned to remove it when done.
