I never tried, but as a hint, look into the Keil/C51/FlashMon/xxxx directory, there is an INSTALL.A51 file which provides the routines for serial communication.
Also, the point of having FLASH (small-block-wise probrammable) is to replace the von Neummann-like wired external RAM. If your ASIC supports the latter, you can use any available monitor around, some of them come with sources so that the serial routines could be rewritten.
