#100974 - a few things: I have no idea as to the s Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The last few months I am playing with an amateur "open source" logic analyser ( http://minila.sourceforge.net - besides other I traced a program run on an 8752 and wrote a quick'n'dirty decoding sw for it) and I believe, even if USB is more complex than UART or I2C, it is not impossible to decode it - and writing the decoder will give an extra insight to the protocol details
a few things: I have no idea as to the size of your brain, but mine can not hold "an extra insight" in all protocols for a long time, thus an excersize for the purpose of "an extra insight" would be useless (at least for me). I have no doubt that a full trace of all signals (with associated timing) can be put through some analytical software crated with a large effort and show something. The problem here is that it will not be in real time. One more thing "quick'n'dirty" definitely would be a waste of time in this case, chasing a bug that is not there (which show up because of bas tools) is just about the worst experience you can have. So, you will gain information that you will forget, you will end up with something that is not real time - is it worth it? - you judge. Erik |
