#100972 - dedicated tool or not Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Certainly, a dedicated tool is always better than a general-purpose one. The question is, if it's worth the money - depending on the potential usage (btw. how many digits has the pricetag of such an USB analyser?) The last few months I am playing with an amateur "open source" logic analyser ( http://minila.sourceforge.net - besides other I traced a program run on an 8752 and wrote a quick'n'dirty decoding sw for it) and I believe, even if USB is more complex than UART or I2C, it is not impossible to decode it - and writing the decoder will give an extra insight to the protocol details. Certainly not a pro approach, please do not criticise from that standpoint - but if it is not viable at all, and waste of time, please tell me. Jan Waclawek |
