#113185 - AD9835 Cycles Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I need to generate a certain number of sinusoidal cycles. I tried with this chip but it seems it is for continuous operations.
I tried loading freq 1 register with 0 frequency while frequency 0 register with required frequency, when I switch between the 2 registers the chip doesn't wait till the cycle is complete, it switches the other frequency register immediately distorting the previous signal. I have been experimenting on a pc based scope to capture just one cycle and monitor the switch over. Can the AD9835 operate in this mode of operation? Does anybody know of a chip that waits till the cycle is complete to switch over to the other frequency register? I'm redesigning the circuit using ZN428 DAC chip and building my sinusoidal from scratch. this way I will have complete control over my frequency generation, but will lose on board size. I'm taking into consideration the analog and digital solid ground planes and will post pictures here. Mahmood |
