#111699 - simulate double-layer Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jan said: As a quick fix, would't placing the PCB on a piece of flat metal sheet suffice, at least to measure whether a double-sided board would suffice? Kai Klaas said:
Not really, as very dirt clock signals are running across the board. There are many aspects how a solid ground plane works and helps to make an application to work properly. [...] I was not too clear what I wrote last night maybe. I intended to suggest to "make" a real 2-sided board by placing the metal (Cu) sheet (an unetched PCB board, maybe) under the board and connect the ground at places where one would make a via (at the device's terminals) - requires drilling of the original board but that is probably going to thrash anyway. Not a perfect 2-sided board but I thought it would make it clear what could one expect from the true 2-sided. OK not a very good idea, quite laborious, isn't it... Jan Waclawek |
