#113137 - whatever you find for the Basic Stamp is Responding to: ???'s previous message |
how to connect it to your BASIC Stamp II, but u can easily connect it to your 8051/8052.
whatever you find for the Basic Stamp is written for that audience. I can easily visualize the "horrors" of implementing a key scan/debounce in BASIC. That something may be the only/most feasible approach for having a keypad with the Basic Stamp, does not mean it is right for you. A 4*4 keypad can be implemented with 4in and 4 out bits and the 74C922 require 6 bits and cost you $6. Even better for $1 you can get a small LPC (or atmel 4 digit) which and do the same and cost you NO pins because you will already have IIC on your system. I have, in some of my designs the key processing offloaded to a LPC and ir works. Erik |
