If you look at

you'll see one of the original ad's for this family. They were originally promoted as somewhat faster than what they really turned out to be, and I was told it was because of their flash process being slightly slower than originally believed, under worst case conditions.

Even at somewhat less than an aggregate 33 MIPS, it's pretty quick.
