If you are programming using C, the instruction set differences should not be much of an issue.
That is where the contradicion occur. The (traditional) PICs are cheap and very small. If you apply that to a product, you think VOLUME. When in volume, you always try to squezze and a few assembly routines usually help thete. If, on the other hand, you are doing a one-off, where is the problem spending a few bucks to get enough resources to allow you not to worry - exit PIC. Erik |
