#112048 - There are some, but who gives a hoot. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
5V flash derivatives with more than 40 pins in 51 family: you tell me how many.
There are some, but who gives a hoot. The world is moving to 3V3, so why not follow the evolution. Call the bug what you like, Philips did not have a solution, nor were they loudly advertising the solution that you and Esacedemy created. Glad you are realizing that Philips did a stupid thing. I can not name ONE company that has not done "stupid things" and, as opposed to some, I do not shy from posting them even for products I like. Precisely my point, this part of the world we don't get those updates of programming algos as easily. well, "easy" NoTouch is on my user page here and at esacademy for free download, FlashMagic is downloadable as well, is that "difficult" You don't care about simulation does not mean it is useless. You don't know how to use it effectively. It is an important part of a concept called co-design, but you will dismiss that as another catch phrase. I do nnot dismiss co-design, that I try to get proto hardware as soon as possible, is anither story. All my co-design run on the emulator (in some cases plugged into a devboard) and there is no hindrance to co-design by not using a simulator. My opposition to simulators is not an opposition to simulators per se but an opposition to relying on them. Yes, even with free tools we do get a lot fixes. Same with Motorola, they have good support team for code warrior even in India. OK, so you get "a lot fixes", great, but when do you get them. WEith paid tools, I can insist on a fix in 2 days or less, with a free tool I am at the mercy of the provider. It may be that you are able to stop your development for a couple of weeks while waiting for a fix, I can not. You could have given a more analytic answer, at least listing in brief the specfic drawbacks of PIC, like I did. pleas reread my posts. Erik |
