To try to answer some questions .
I have an ART eprom programer that I got from maplins after my old programer died.
This means that I us old type devices or buye a new programer?.
I am building a 1/3 scale darlek.
Whitch as 5 motors 10 led`s 4 micro switches Ialso wanted to use a 20 way key pad and an lcd disply.
This may seem as if i am trying to run before I can walk.
In 1986 I made a robot using an 8085 and it worked .
I have use 8031 devises before but never needed extra ports.
to answer Roberto I think you are right and Iam wrong with the memory map .
A0 A1 from micro goto A0 A1 on the 255
A15 A14 A13 goto 74138 for decoding
Y0 to EEprom Y7 to 8255 cs

I will try all the suggestions thank you all for your help .
