Yes, it IS relevant.
It is relevant as a basis to make choices. The point is that you do not have the choice! If you have no money, there is SDCC only. If you make 1.000.000 units, you need the most efficient compiler. I have been all over the place in the above respect: I have developed things at no tool cost using the metalink assembler. I have bought 8 copies of development tools for a project. Erik |
