There is at least one '51 derivative which goes beyound the traditional stack limitation of the 8051, pushing it up to the ERAM (XRAM, or however you want to call it) - see the ADuC family (at least the ADuC84x parts do so).
Also, GCC has at least one port to a 8-bitter, and a very popular and vivid one - for the AVRs. Now it's "only" a matter of time, money and a couple of other "details" to get a working extended-stack-'51 GCC... :-) Jan Waclawek |
