I would like to ask you guys a question on how to measure the potential drop across a resistive in a high voltage loop. Search for datasheet of ISO106. There's an application like your's. But is the 24V supply ground sitting at a 300V potential, relative to "True ground"? If you follow the application note above, yes, signal ground of +-15VDC is sitting at 300V! So, you must use a proper safety class II transformer (also called 'saftey transformer') for this job. And don't forget to apply some filtering and varistors to the 300V line, in order to prevent damage from ISO106, if surges and bursts are superimposed. Also, Sun, BE VERY CAREFUL! Potentials involved can kill you!!! Do only proceed if you are totaly clear what you are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kai |
