I've got several laser printers that don't have DOS drivers. The reason for that is that, Under DOS, the application had to host the device-specific-driver. Oddly enough, they all have LaserJet-II or -III emulation available, which makes them work just fine under DOS.
I buy these things, which are, in fact, obsolete, and have been for years, at the local thrift stores, where I buy them for about $5 each, just to get the still-useable toner cartridges. I don't like inkjets because they're too fussy and don't print accurately enough. Laser printers do a really nice job on the cheapest available paper. RE |
