#90775 - Register Overlaying??? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Or is this a version of the register overlaying that the Keil compiler does for example?
Nope. The Keil compiler doesn't do register overlaying as far as I know. The Keil compiler does allow you to: 1. Specify the default register bank that is should use when making assumptions about absolute register addresses. The assumption is register bank 0. 2. Specify that a function uses a particular register bank AND that the compiler should generate prefix and suffix code to switch to and from that register bank. 3. Specify the register bank to use for an interrupt service routine. Someone could write their entire program using only 4 functions and specify a different register bank for each function. I don't know why anyone would do that. But, if they wanted to, they could. Jon |
