An analogy: Q: When I hit a nut with a sledgehammer, it gets squashed to a nasty, mushy pulp with the nut all mixed up with bits of shell - how can I stop this? So, should we just concentrate on devising ways to use a sledgehammer gently, or maybe design some jig that assures that the nut is cracked but not squashed, or some way to extract the bits of shell and re-form the nut, or should we rather suggest that the OP consider whether the sledgehammer is not, in fact, an appropriate solution...? |
