... was some random value. Of course that are characters 00-FF, but randomly chosen, not giving any sense. This was done to deter a potential "intruder" who would try to copy and/or modify that product.

I don't quite see the point of a device programmer displaying opcodes - maybe you attempt to do some sort of debugging device? I still don't understand (but that's nothing special with me, I don't understand a lot of things... :-) )
