I wasn't suggesting that you have to use Jeff's complete PC application.

His code is open-source, so can't you just take the disassembler functionality from it without all the PC application stuff?

I think carrying PC during travelling would be more comfortable

I thoroughly agree - so why the non-PC approach?!

A laptop, of course!

I have had to do on-site firmware tweaks using a laptop with a complete development suite; that was painful enough - doing it when all you have is a hex keypad and a 2x16 LCD would be completely unworkable, in my opinion!
