The 89C2051 datasheet says Iol is limited to 10mA per port
NO, nada, niente, never, nie, non, aldrig. It MAY say Iol should be limited to 10mA.
There is no inherent current limitation for port pins (beyond, of course the limit that blow the pin). If you feed a port pin enough it WILL blow.
