It seems to be that some members feel that a responder should take the request, be it wrong, and help whomever is on the way down the garden path go on. Also it seems that some feel that if someone is asking in a way that imply a misconception, the responder should let the misconception stay.

I treat questions in the forum the same way I treat questions from my employees: direct and to the point. If I were to let someone keep a misconception i would consider that extremely rude
