I would if I were you:

1) (already mentioned) Adhere to standard mnemonics and syntax

2) (already mentioned) Download Metalink or ASEM-51, both are free

3) Find the a utility called diff.com? also free

4) Compare every assembly from your assembler with the assembly output from a known (proven) assembler such as Metalink. This would be the first thing I would do if something gets fishy.

ASEM-51 is pretty nice, it has an IDE, that I think you can call your feeder program from.
