I would never discount Mike Stegmaier's effort to learn through exploring the writing of an assembler. There is certainly a great benefit from doing that...but I bet he uses his PC to do it and not hand coding tedious machine language to boot strap his EPROM content up to a containing a debug monitor which is then used to boot strap his "assember".
But I can tell you I also learned from my experiences too :( After I told my story in the prior posting I thought that it seemed as I may have written it before.
