I said PIC because of two reasons:

1) OP says that in his country MCU with two UARTS isnt available , this isnt our case where we can buy any MCU with a click of buttons.

2) PIC as far as I know is a low cost processor with Integrated dedicated I2C hardware(which is suitable for this device to work as an I2C slave without effort ) and is available in most of the countries , because of their(Microchip) excellent customer care and distribution ,Yes I know this personally ! .
