When I want to place a component in the DOS-OrCAD software, I type <G> followed by the component name/number

I actually consider that a disadvantage, you need to fully and correctly recall the part name. With the windows based product, you only need to recall one or two characters to do a fast grab.

A proverb: "some like the mother, some like the daughter", this is not an argument, it is an expression of preferences.
