I think it has more to do with what you are used to and not the fact that it's "windows" software. Most windows CAD software allows you to set your shortcuts as needed...no menus involved. The fact of the matter is that most PCB designers with 40 years of experience have long since found a CAD package that they feel comfortable with and there is nothing wrong with that.

To new engineers, I would say try a few different packages. Use what your comfortable with. The more you get experience with and learn the in's and out's of the package, the more proficient you will become with it.
