#114411 - FPGA libraries in general Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Of course, finding the component you want in PCAD is tricky, mainly becuase their libraries are vastly out of date. Last time I looked, the latest XILINX components in their libraries had been out of production for a full decade. My preference when doing schematics is to use application-specific symbols for my FPGAs. I'd rather break the symbol up into several logical parts (PCI interface, back-end interface, this, that, the other) instead of having a page with a big symbol in the middle with 256 (or more) wires going every which way. Obviously, this requires a custom symbol, and worse, it's a PITA if you change the pin-out, but everything's a trade-off. -a |
