I think I should start by saying that I appreciate this message forum very much. Moreover, I am grateful for your post which allows me to ask more questions. Firstly, since I could possibly be able to solder in your chip in place of the 74HC245, how would I interface the ribbon header to vga?

Secondly, since I have not perused my info concerning this thread in over a month, would the fpga (field programmable gate array-I found out) and the associated programming, not be required? In other words, would the Toshiba controller that now follows my ribbon controller and the chips associated with it no longer be needed to get my info on to the monitor instead of the LCD?

In other words, please help me to understand the steps needed to use your device with my setup.
