if Keil/Bible say you have to configure it as inputs whats wrong there, The ports are Quasi-Bidirectional and one has to make sure that it does not aafects the input as prevoiusly it might being used to drive some external inputs and you have to configure (means "to shape") it as input by writing a '1' to the corresponding latch how it is wrong. you have "to shape" the qusi-bidirectional ports as inputs isn't it?
