I totally, absolutely disagree, a possible correct statement could be: Real time can mean 'deterministic'. Well, you would, wouldn't you? That someone (probably a marketing type) decided to call deterministic real does not mean that that is correct or, if you insist, the only meaning of the phrase. While many people have many opinions about what real time means, the concensus is that given in Ian's link above. 'Deterministic' is a pretty good, if somewhat terse, one word distillation of that definition. There has been instances where someone has not been able to understand that including a URTOS did not improve interrupt handling. THIS describes how faulty the "label" is. The 'label' isn't faulty. It's a classic example of failing to understand the meaning of the 'label'. You still seem to be hung up on this idea that real time either implies 'fast' or has something to do with interrupts. |
