I don´t think you can "write" (burn?) the signature bits, but i don´t have any other explanation.
Perhaps i´ll buy another and do the same, it would be self explanatory. that would be a stupid chip design if the signature was writeable. BUT I can see some "smart" designer making it so to allow chips that do not pass certain tests to be identified as some other derivative where the range of test is less. an example: for an error writing some byte in the 2-4k range identify the chip as a max 2k variant Erik It would be interesting if someone could identify the ID that you are actually reading as such a derivative. |
