#111401 - it seems possible Responding to: ???'s previous message |
... that Atmel does require/produce more curent in the signatute read than Winbond. All "what is the problem" posts have referred to Atmel which I do not use due to their unwillingness to post errata. Then, on the other hand, it is somewhat surprising that we have, in the last month, had about 100 entries in 5? threads about Atmel programming and NONE about Philips programming. Note, the contact issue is re paralle3l programming.
You have to clean the contacts?? Well, I wouldn't use neither a micro nor a programmer, where I have to clean the contacts before programming! You are really using micros having contact problems??? Kai, read again. Did I say "every time"? the id error typically comes up about 5000 chips after a thorough cleaning, but since the thorough cleaning is likely to be harmful to the programmer (they do not put a lot of gold on contacts these days) and we have seen no ill effects using verified chips that "require cleaning" (most often clean the ZIF) why clean the whole thing before the ID read becomes a nuisance. erik |
